#13. THE NEW 1955-66 THUNDERBIRDS

This great collection of TV commercials and Ford promotional films kicks off with rare footage of Hollywood star Randolph Scott, and crooner Bing Cosby introducing the classy lines and features of the sporty new Ford T-Birds. Other Ford promo films show Henry Ford II and the introduction of the first '55 and details like how the removable top works. More TV promotions follow.

The action moves in full color to the beach and the 1956 Daytona Speed Trials where racing champion Chuck Daigh sets a new record in his stripped down 'Bird. This is followed by great footage of the new '57s being introduced and setting flying mile records at Daytona.

The so-called '58 "squarebird" was first introduced to the public by TV host Dick Powell. You are there as the whole series of '58-60 T-Bird ads are played out to show the glamour, details, and roominess of America's first family sports cars. Promotions of the sleek new bullet-shaped 1961-63, and handsome 1964-66 T-Bird series continue the family sports car theme at the country club. Lots of good Roadster footage, and convertible tops folding neatly into rear decks!

#21. FORD & THE AMERICAN DREAM

For many Americans in the early days of motoring, Henry Ford's amazing Model T was the first car they had every seen, ridden in, driven or owned. Each generation has had its own love affair with Ford cars-from the legendary Model A to the fast and famous "flathead" V-8s and all the beautiful Fords, Lincolns, Mercurys, Thunderbirds. . . the incomparable Mustangs. . . and so many other great models. Along the way they have been the family joy, polished, paraded, raced, hot-rodded, customized and collected.

Narrated by veteran Ford voice Shelby Newhouse and written and produced by auto historian Lorin Sorensen for a 1991 Ford marketing program, this is the entertaining story of some of the best of those Ford-produced cars and historic events, compiled from the very best of the original historic film footage. Coverage is from the '20s to the '80s.

#14. THE NEW 1964-67 MUSTANGS

If you missed all the promotions of the sensational new Ford Mustangs on TV in the fun years of 196467, here is a re-run. It's a rare collection of nearly all the original Mustang TV commercials from the ones announcing the car's debut on April 17, 1964, to the last ones of the 1967 selling season. Included is every body style and important event from the cars at the 1964 New York World's Fair, to the toy models promotions. You'll see introductions of the coupes and soft tops, details of the new '65 2+2 Fastback with the handy dual purpose rear seat/ cargo deck, new cars in the dealer showroom, those famous Walter Mitty skits, stars from the "Hazel" TV show promoting models, families with Mustangs, Mustangs in weddings and a whole lot more!

A great clip shows the new '66 models in glorious color with lots of details. There are buyer comments, sports options, the 1967 "Mustang Sports Sprint Sale" (car for $2,222) and a lively group singing the '67 "Ford --It's the going thing!" commercial.

#15. FAST FORDS OF THE SIXTIES

Fords dominated American racing in the 1960's beginning with the mid-year 1963 models. Youthful buyers wanted their own cars to race on Sunday and drive to work on Monday. Suddenly a new "muscle car" market was born. To meet the demand Ford would introduce its new "Total Performance" series, which would soon include hot new models from Fairlanes and Mustangs to Falcons and Cougars! The Ford film "Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday" kicks off the action. The 1963 Falcon Sprint, Fairlane Sport Coupe, and Ford Sports Hardtop trying out the cliff-hanging roads of Monaco are highlighted. Then it's the introductions of the new 1965 Mustang GT, and Fairlane GTA. Carroll Shelby shows us his hot new Mustangs and a look inside his Shelby American shops. There's also the debut of the new 1966 Ford Fairlane XL Hardtop and Convertible, the 1966 Galaxie 7-Litre, and the Comet Cyclone GT.

Included are hot Ford models like the new '68 Cougar XR-7, Cyclone GT and 428 CJ, Torino GT, the Torino Indy Pace Car, and the Torino Cobra GT. All this plus racing at the Riverside NASCAR 500 and some great '69 Mustang Mach 1 drag action!
